Gazprom contests Stockholm court ruling in Ukraine transit case

MOSCOW, Mar 30 (PRIME) -- Russian gas giant Gazprom has appealed against a ruling by the Stockholm arbitration court in a case on gas transit across Ukraine, Gazprom said in a statement on Friday.

“Gazprom sent a motion to contest and cancel partially a final decision in an arbitration proceedings with Naftogaz Ukrainy in a gas transit case to the Svea District Court of Appeal on March 29 due to significant procedural violations committed by the arbiters during decision making,” Gazprom said.

The Stockholm arbitration court ruled on March 1 that Gazprom must pay Naftogaz Ukrainy U.S. $2.56 billion for non-shipment of gas. Gazprom contested the decision on the supply case on March 21.
